Notes for the conversations you didn’t see coming.

Thoughtful reflections on transitions, growth, and showing up. Drawn from real conversations, real questions, and real life.

Showing up through change can feel quietly overwhelming. Not in dramatic, headline-making ways, but in small, everyday moments where you are unsure what is normal, what matters, or what to say next.

These moments are easy to brush off and try to handle alone, but, they tend to stick with us.

The Pep Talk Diaries began as a place to hold those moments.

Over decades of professional work alongside leaders, teams and, interns navigating growth, pressure, and transition, the same questions kept coming up:

  • Am I doing this right?

  • Is this normal?

  • Did I miss something important?

  • What do people think of me?

Later, after becoming a parent and spending time with other parents and educators, those same questions appeared again. Almost word for word.

At first glance, this tells a cute little story, that we are all more alike than we think.

More importantly, it tells the truth: we are human, and most of us are doing our best to navigate life as it shows up.

  • Transitions, even expected ones, can be harder than we imagine.

  • Growth, even when it is welcome, often comes with uncertainty.

  • Positive support helps.

The Diaries offers a snapshot of real moments with honesty, and a new perspective.
